Hot off the heels of his amazing performance in Bucharest, the young Swede carries on the ownage now on homeland, as the man has just grabbed a victory at the ESWC Nordic qualifier. He came home, plugged in his keyboard, and immediately won a final against one of the best players in the scene. The rising star never ceases to impress.
ESWC, short for Electronic Sports World Cup, is one of the major video game events of the year that gathers some of the most talented cyberathletes worldwide. The event, initially created in France back in 2003, has blossomed for over 9 years now, growing stronger with every edition. Hundreds of national qualifiers, spread across several different games, will determine who's going to fight for pride, glory and money this year in Paris.
Representing Sweden will be none other than our very own Daniel “StarNaN” Ohlsson, who just earned a free ticket to the beautiful capital of France. Entering the competition, the Protoss had a long road ahead of him, but he swiftly brushed aside the amateur competitors to eventually make it to the final four. Daniel would then be confronted to the fairly unknown Hiiva, who went on to defeat our player in an intense 3-1 series. Dropped to the lower brackets, our member had to face the dreaded powerhouse, Fuzer. However, he represented no difficulty to the DH Bucharest semi-finalist as he defeated him with a 3-0 scoreline. StarNaN would then have the opportunity to seek revenge on Hiiva, which he did after completely annihilating him without dropping a single map. In the grand finals, the Swede would move on to play against Snute, another opponent worthy of fear, which would result in two breathtaking series, each going in favour of our player.
