A few months past we announced the closure of our Call of Duty 4 division, and announced our interest in the new Counter-Strike title; Global Offensive, and today that interest has come to fruition.

As the saying goes: As one door closes, another door opens, and this certainly rings true for Western Wolves on this day. After the closure of our Call of Duty 4 division, we announced our interest in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and after several months of scoping out prospective teams, we are happy to announce that the Swedish team formerly known as SY_b will be joining our ranks.

Moving over from Counter-Strike 1.6, the team have a plethora of experience and individual achievements to draw upon, and it shows as they are making waves within the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene. Their achievements include winning the first ESPlay CS:GO tournament, first place in the ESL Counter-Strike: Global Offesnsive Go4CSGO Cup #14, and most notably winning the THOR Open CS:GO Qualifier #2 where they beat teams such asVirtus.pro, Fragmasters.TOXIC and, arguably the best team at the moment, Ninjas in Pyjamas.

The new Western Wolves Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team:

 Erik "zende" Sundequist
 Andreas "schneider" Lindberg
 Robin "flusha" Rönnquist
 Simon "downie" Storm
 Jonatan "Devilwalk" Lundberg

The team captain, Erik "zende" Sundequist, said the following:

After deciding to really give CS:GO a chance we have been successful in online tournaments and now we really want to prove ourselves at offline tournaments. We decided that Western Wolves would be the perfect environment to achieve the results we want and we look forward to a bright future with Western Wolves.

Florent Dauvister, Head Manager of Western Wolves, had the following to say about the acquisition of the new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team:

We are very happy to be welcoming this new CSGO team, we have been on the look out for players that share the same value as we do in our organisation since we parted ways with our CoD4 team. We always strive to provide opportunities to up and coming teams and players that is the reason why recruiting SY_b felt right to us. We are looking forward to building a long term relationship with our new team and hope to see them make a name for themselves at Dreamhack Winter and Thor Open.
